Autel have released their first initial offering for Mclaren, it is the first release including  diagnostic support for 19 models, inluding spider 675LT, 600LT Coupe, Coupe 650s, Spider 540c, GT, GTR, Coupe 625C, etc. Adds diagnostic support for models upto Mclaren 2022 MY. Supports functions for Mclaren Autoscan, Trouble codes, Ecu information, live data and hot functions which include service light reset and parking brake release. 

Autel is one of the first mainstream tools to cover diagnostic functions for Mclaren. With the Autel diagnostic connections it will only improve with updates. 

These Autel diagnostic functions are only available on Autel 909, 919 and Ultra models which are available from Autel UK Authorised agents such as Impact diagnostics.

On Ford TPMS Systems you need to manually put the vehicle into a learn mode before you can learn with a TPMS tool. 

The procedure is as follows. 

1. Ignition OFF.
2. Press and release the brake pedal.
3. Turn the ignition ON/OFF 3 times, end with position ON.
4. Press and release the brake pedal.
5. Turn the ignition to position OFF.
6. Turn the ignition ON/OFF 3 times, end with position ON.
7. A beep sounds once and the TPMS lamp flashes if the learning mode has started. Vehicles with information display also displays "CALIBRATE LEFT FRONT TIRE".
8. Position the activation tool at the valve stem and activate the tool. A short beep sounds to indicate that the tire pressure sensor has been identified. It may take a few seconds to activate the sensor. During this time, the tool must remain at the valve stem.
9. Repeat step 8 for the right front tire and then also for the right rear and the left rear.
10. The learning is completed when the last tire has been learned. Vehicle with information display shows "COMPLETED". Otherwise the learning is confirmed by, the ignition switch is turned to position OFF without any beep sounds. If the beep sounds twice, the learning has failed.
11. Turn ignition ON/OFF.
12. Function complete.

Recently PSA Group have added the Tech2win subscription as standard included in the GDS2 Subscription. I think this is great news. I recently installed this remotely for a customer using Teamviewer and took some screengrabs along the way. This works with Passthru tools such as drewtech Mongoose GM, Drewtech cardaq, Cardaq m, Bosch KTS and even Ford VCM3. However it does not work with Autel Passthru :( you will need to make sure the relevantd drivers are installed. 

​Purchase the length of subscription required, in my case the customer already had a GDS2 license so didnt need to worry about ordering again.

Most IDS VCM2 Issues are due to corrupt firmware, so the steps are as follows to recover your VCM 2.

​Shut down the IDS application if it is running.
Disconnect the VCM II DLC cable from the vehicle.
Disconnect the VCM II USB cable from the VCM II and PC.
Remove the rubber boot on the VCM II that is opposite the DLC connector to expose the Recovery Mode Switch.
Start the IDS application.
Press and hold the plastic tab.

How to put the X431 Eurotab 2 into online flash mode The Launch X431 Eurotab 2 can re-flash control modules on some supported manufacturers; this advanced online flash mode is deactivated as standard. To activate the online flash mode follow the below instructions

After modifying the file exit the ‘ES File Editor’ and use the device as normal. Once within the manufacturer software, where applicable the online flash function will be visible on the menu and control modules can be re-flashed by following the on screen instructions.

I was called out to a trade customer who wanted to program a new SDM Module to this 2017 Vauxhall Movano. I went out to the job equiped with the Autel MS 908 pro S I used it as a passthru tool to flash and configure the SDM to this vehicle. SPS Software was downloaded from ​http://public.servicebox.peugeot.com/pages/index.jsp 

One of the most common questions I get asked is how to setup Forscan using Autel Pasthru, It works with most passthru devices but because the Autel product is my best seller I thought best to show with this. 

First of all we need the relevant passthru drivers, the Autel PC Suite is available to download off our Downloads page here. 

You then need to buy your license and download the software off the Forscan website, https://forscan.org/download.html I recommend you buy the lifetime license which is 42Euros. 

Here you configure the cable type, I have tested with Autel, VCM2, Drewtech Cardaq and Tactrix. 

You then paste the license code which is emailed to you into the software to activate.
