I was called out to a trade customer who wanted to program a new SDM Module to this 2017 Vauxhall Movano. I went out to the job equiped with the Autel MS 908 pro S I used it as a passthru tool to flash and configure the SDM to this vehicle. SPS Software was downloaded from http://public.servicebox.peugeot.com/pages/index.jsp
One of the most common questions I get asked is how to setup Forscan using Autel Pasthru, It works with most passthru devices but because the Autel product is my best seller I thought best to show with this.
First of all we need the relevant passthru drivers, the Autel PC Suite is available to download off our Downloads page here.
You then need to buy your license and download the software off the Forscan website, https://forscan.org/download.html I recommend you buy the lifetime license which is 42Euros.
Here you configure the cable type, I have tested with Autel, VCM2, Drewtech Cardaq and Tactrix.
You then paste the license code which is emailed to you into the software to activate.
Attached are some videos below from SY Diagnostics.
Ford Motor Company Limited will be in due course implementing a mandatory Global Online system called Global Ford Diagnostic and Repair System (Global FDRS), and the existing FordEtis FDRS Online Applications will no longer be available.
However, in preparation of the Global FDRS activation, Ford Motor Company Ltd is requesting that all independent operators after their country’s activation date, will be required to download and install the Global FDRS software application onto their computer’s, by following the instructions set out in the attached document.
This website has done me proud for over ten years but I am finding the shop side of it to confusing, so I have built a whole new webshop which offers a far smoother experience including alot more entry level produts and normal workshop tools.
On the Later Ford Transit and Rangers they have a major flaw in the software where if the Adblu runs out completely the vehicle will go to a complete non start situation.
In the following slides I reset the starter using the Ford Etis system. https://www.etis.ford.com/home.do
I have tested this with both Cardaq and Autel Maxiflash Elite.
Applies to: Fiat/Chrysler/Jeep/RAM//Dodge - selected 2018+ models
Selected 2018 models contain new module called Security Gateway (SGW). This module isolates vehicle CAN-BUS, infotainment (radio) CAN-BUS and diagnostic link connector CAN-BUS (OBD-II). It also prevents aftermarket scantools such as Autocom and Autel to perform any active diagnostic routines such as clearing fault codes, perform actuators, ECU programming, etc.
The only tool capable of diagnostics via OBD-II is the dealer tool, which authenticates bi-directionaly the gateway using strong cryptography algorithms.
Paid registration and online access to the factory server is required below is how to carry it out using Autocom CDP/
I recently had to program a Mercedes C204/S204 ABS control module. I carried out this whole process using the excellent Autel MS908Pro and its online SCN programming functions. It was actually a very simple and logical procedure the hardest part was actually calibration of the inlet valves as you had to hold down the brake pedal at a specific pressure and then change to a different pressure without releasing the pedal completely.
Being a small business Covid19 has had a massive Impact on our business. The Majority of my customers have closed and understandably not looking to invest in new equipment. Not to worry we are still open and self isolating at home but support has not been compromised in fact I am going to use it as an oppurtunity to improve our website with a new online shop. I am also looking into new finance options for the smaller products.
I want to add more technical information to my website and in doing this I think the easiest way is to give something back to my customers. I am offering to pay for technical case studies that I can then host on my website. If you have any you think would be useful then please email me Info@DLDTools.com
Following on from my last post regarding Vauxhall Opel GDS software one of my customers sent me this write up.
I was asked to go out and look at a 2011 Vauxhall Insignia, which by all accounts had issues with the rear end electrics on the car.
I get asked regularly how to make the most of the J2534 passthru device supplied with the Autel Maxisys Pro so I thought I would screenshot reinstalling the GDS2 software on my new demonstration laptop. The whole process works on best using Internet Explorer.
Firstly you need to login too the service box website. http://public.servicebox.peugeot.com/pages/index.jsp
Once logged in you need to go onto the Technical Information tab and select the Opel Vauxhall Chevrolet subscription tab. It will then show you any current subscriptions or give option to purchase.
Very important make sure you select the correct brand at the top, you can then scroll down and purchase the required length of GDS2 subs. I bought 12 Months for 140Euros
It should now show you how long you have remaining on your subscription. You click the Tis button and it will open up another window.
You can download the latest Java version on the link above, once installed you click on the Start GDS2 button. This is where using Internet Explorer is important. What you need to do now is follow through with the installation keep on pressing yes and allow etc.
If you are using a passthru Autel Device or similar you can skip the GM MDI2 Drivers.
Once GDS2 Install is done you will then need to download the individual software packs for the brands you purchased.
Once downloaded you then need to install all apps, so you just click the install button and all models will be installed to your GDS2 software.
You are now ready to go, you need to make sure the correct Passthru J2534 Drivers are installed. I have bought 12 months license but it says 29 Days this is normal. You can open GDS2 from the icon on desktop for 29 days and then you will need to open from the website to renew the lease.
