They are suitable for finding any form of automotive leak such as intake leaks, manifold leaks, exhaust leak and can be used for diagnosing cabin wind noise, evap tests, radiators leaks, intercooler leak,

They use a fine smoke mist that fills the system with
smoke and then you can see the leak where the smoke escapes the system. Some of  the units also have a built in dye that allows marking of the unit for easier leak detection.
