OSCA Diagnostics FAQ
What is osca diagnostics
Osca Diagnostics is like no other scantool on the market because you have no control over it, you are relying on the OSCA diagnostics engineers to carry out procedures for you. This may sound like a weakness but far from it as the Osca technicians are using diagnostic equipment day in day out to carry out programming procedures so you do not have to buy all the relevant tools and subscriptions.
sounds too good to be true, whats the catch?
Osca diagnostics is a pay as you go service, so every job costs money. So to program a cluster on an MK6 Golf is 39.99+vat and to program a key on a Transit is 19.99+vat.
Is it a replacement for dealer diagnostics?
No it is not, it is a great tool for dabbling with programming but if you find a certain brand is needed more than others then you should buy the OEM. On some brands however OSCA can actually compliment dealer diagnostics for example on an Insignia to reflash the gearbox you will need the immo code. This is £40+vat from Vauxhall and potentially 48hours wait where OSCA can retrieve this code from the car on the spot for 9.99+vat
What is the difference between subscriptions and without
OSCA is not an everyday tool and is great value to run, the charge of 14.99 is made monthly after the first year to help cover costs and developments if nobody is plugging vehicles in for jobs. If you find you are using the tool less than twice a month you can cancel the tool and just pay a premium of 7.50+vat per job. You can buy the tool without the subscription at 650+vat or you can buy it with the first 12 months includes @ 800+vat
What tablet do i need to run osca diagnostics?
OSCA uses Android operating system and comes with a USB type c cable, so most Android tablets with USB C will run OSCA. When we sell OSCA we supply it with a USB C to Mini USB OTG Adaptor which will open up the amount of tablets than can be used including the excellent Topdon Artipad.
